Sensory activation is usually treated as atmospheric or decorative. In Lygia Pape’s work, structural conditions are revealed through touch, light, and movement, allowing spatial relationships to emerge directly.
Perception expands, and boundaries soften, so that form registers as open and relational rather than fixed.
