Severity is traditionally regarded as extreme or austere; in Rick Owens’ work, it functions structurally to construct identity through elongated silhouette, restricted palette, and architectural proportion.

Silhouettes are rigid, gestures minimal, and presence is measured so that form asserts itself through disciplined relation rather than ornament. The body operates as reference, guiding perception across spatial and material cues.
