Jiro Yoshihara

jee-roh yoh-shee-hah-rah

Yoshihara built a world defined by emptiness.

As founder of Gutai, he urged artists to “create what has never been done before.”

His circular paintings and philosophies made the void generative — nothingness as material for invention.

In his world, clarity begins with openness: form drawn from silence.

How does immediacy assert form here?
This is some text inside of a div block.

Immediacy is commonly treated as spontaneity or expression. In Jiro Yoshihara’s work, direct action and unmediated gesture function structurally, establishing form without revision and allowing immediacy to regulate the surface.

Marks are decisive, and sequential actions record relational intervals and spatial presence. Surface retains the memory of action, and control is limited to the conditions of execution.
