Material translucency is traditionally regarded as decorative or ethereal; in Rakuko Naito’s work, it functions structurally to render form light, permeable, and perceptually active.
Translucent grids and nylon threads allow edges to blur and light to pass through, so that the structure itself becomes spatially legible without relying on mass. Surfaces float, revealing relational depth across layers.
