Accumulation as atmosphere

Jill BAH-roff

Jill Baroff builds a world where repetition accumulates into atmosphere.

Thousands of small marks gather into fields that hover between drawing, painting, and image.

Surface records duration rather than expression.

Perception unfolds through density, proximity, and time.

Atmosphere forms through accumulation.

How can repetition generate atmosphere rather than pattern?
This is some text inside of a div block.

In conventional abstraction, repetition produces pattern. Marks repeat to stabilize form.

In Jill Baroff’s work, repetition operates differently. Thousands of small gestures accumulate across the surface without resolving into fixed order.

Clusters form, dissolve, and reappear. The field shifts between density and suspension.

Atmosphere is not depicted. It emerges through accumulation.
