Light as Measure

Sculptural Light — Frank Gerritz

Light registers distance and proportion.

Scale becomes visible.

Relation is clarified.

What becomes legible?
Measure is often marked physically, yet no mark appears. Light reveals proportion across space. What continues is scale made visible without inscription.

Measurement is often marked physically — by line, by unit, by inscription — but Frank Gerritz withholds all of that.

No scale is drawn. No metric is announced.

Instead, proportion is registered through light moving across space.

Distance becomes visible as illumination shifts with position.

Scale is perceived rather than stated.

What’s being held is not measurement as notation, but measurement as experience —

a condition where relation clarifies itself without ever becoming a mark.
